A land located between the sea and the hills, witness to a thousand-year history.

A land located between the sea and the hills, witness to a thousand-year history.

The Terra Fageto vines are located in Pedaso, along the ridges which overlook the sea,
at the top of the clay ruts that leave the hills of Monte Serrone to unwind down to the valley.
Thanks to the mild climate throughout the year and the constant exposure to the south, these lands have been used for viticulture since the Middle Ages: here stood Castrum Fagetum or Fageto Castle, an ancient fortress that withstood the attack of the barbarians. At that time wine was produced by winemakers with an ancient method and was stored in earthenware jars. Today these lands are safeguarded and tilled with respect in order to reap good results and turn them into excellences.
This area near Altidona has a great south-facing exposure. Its territory is pebbly, crumbly.
It is very special, as are the white Terra Fageto wines born right here.
On top of Pedaso, Mount Serrone offers ventilated and sunny dry clay and limestone soils. This is the area that is home to most of our vines. A perfect location for our Red wine Terra Fageto.
Facing north, this area is fresh and with an optimal degree of humidity.
Its soils are compact and sandy. The ideal asset for the great success of our Terra Fageto white wines.
